red originally for the racetrack, in the tradition of Black Box's extravagantly coloured racing team, 'Crownie' has actually begun to display a talent for a much different discipline. At the moment, she's being shown as an eventing/dressage prospect, and appears to be thriving.
This beautiful and unique little girl comes from some of the best at Black Box. Her sire is our top stallion, 1998 cremello Thoroughbred Bold N Gold. He in turn is the son of Milkies Desire, a palomino stud who has sired many successful hunter horses, as well as spending a brief stint as a racehorse. Milkie, the grandsire of Bold N Gold, was also a successful sire of hunter/jumper horses. Bold N Gold's dam was an unraced chestnut mare named Desirable Lady, a daughter of Barbizon, a successful racehorse and champion two year old. Her dam Petite Coeur was also a successful racer, with a total of 74 starts and a number of wins, places and shows.
Crownie's dam is BBS Snowblind, another Black Box homebred. This stunning mare who, to the casual observer, almost looks white (maximum sabino), was sired by the renowned New Zealand stallion Octagonal, who was a huge sensation in Australia during his career. He won a total of ten Group 1 races, and was the 1995-1996 Australian Horse Of The Year. Won 3YO Triple Crown. Champion 2YO Australasian Classification. Won at 1100m to 2400m.

When we saw that Crownie was for sale, we just had to get her! We absolutely admire her lineage and know Crownie will fit right into the odds and ends of Bearly Sporthorses. Already showing tremendous talents, we expect this girl to go far! We are very happy that Odeon sold us this filly; watch for her in the show arena... we bet you cannot miss her!
